The Maverick Institute offers green, yellow and black belt certifications in Lean Knowledge Transfer to professionals around the globe.

Founded by long-time Lean operations practitioner and Six Sigma black belt Todd Hudson, we pioneered the application of Lean to training, learning and knowledge transfer, opening up a whole new world of possibilities for efficient, effective KT.

We have deep experience in both knowledge transfer and Lean operations, and have worked with organizations of all sizes, from startups to large-scale global operations in Asia and Europe.

About Our Founder

Todd Hudson HATES waste. As the Institute’s founder and Head Maverick, his mission is to use Lean to transform the way organizations learn and share knowledge in the same way that Lean has transformed manufacturing, software (Agile) and, more recently, healthcare.

With more than 25 years of  experience in global Lean operations, plant management and knowledge transfer consulting with European, Asian and US-owned companies, he’s seen just about every Lean KT challenge there can be.

Todd is clear-sighted and a truth teller. His insatiable curiosity and keen observation skills get to the heart of situations quickly. Never satisfied with the status quo, he is the consummate “Why not?” thinker, helping organizations set novel (and sometimes scary) learning goals, and creating exciting strategies to reach them. Last but not least, Todd is all about measurable results and positive impact.

Todd speaks regularly at companies and conferences about using Lean to improve knowledge transfer. He is the author of two books (My Personal Onboarding Plan and Not a Moment to Lose). His next book, a guide to Lean KT will be published in 2013.

Todd holds an MS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts and a BA in Chinese from Connecticut College.
